About me
My name is Jan, and I specialize in architectural, hotel, and design photography.
As a child, I moved to the United States, where I studied and worked until I was 21 years old. During my high school years, I discovered my passion for photography for the first time, experimenting with my first and last film camera, taking countless rolls of film that I never developed.
After returning to Europe, I worked in the hospitality industry. I began my career at the Kings Court Hotel and later worked for hotels such as St. Augustin and Alchymist. It was in these hotels that I discovered my passion for architecture and design.
I started photographing interiors while working for Vacasa Vacation Rentals. It wasn’t anything special – taking pictures of houses, editing the images, and uploading them to booking platforms. However, it was the COVID period that kick-started my freelance career in architectural photography. Due to travel restrictions, Vacasa closed its international destinations, and I was forced to look for new clients. I initially worked with real estate agents, then transitioned to working with architects, and since August 2023, I have been primarily focusing on hotels.
Here are a few interesting facts about me:
I am a proud father
I love hiking in the mountains and have a habit of taking selfies with cows in alpine meadows.
My hiking boots last me a maximum of one season.
I believe that pineapple belongs on pizza and that cappuccino can be ordered even after lunch.
I like to pick up heavy iron plates and put them down. I do this several times a week for at least an hour.
